ROLE

The UGC in its 12th plan (2012-2017) prescribed guidelines for the establishment and monitoring of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).  The aim was maintaining the momentum of quality consciousness that is crucial in institutions of higher education. Internal Quality Assurance Cell, in fact, is conceived as a mechanism to build and ensure a quality culture at the institutional level. Every College should have an internal quality assurance system, with appropriate structure and processes, and with enough flexibility to meet the diverse needs of the stakeholders.

The role of the IQAC focuses on planning, guiding and monitoring Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Enhancement (QE) activities of the colleges. The IQAC may channelize and systematize the efforts and measures of an institution towards academic excellence. The IQAC attempts to become a driving force for ushering in intervention strategies for quality enhancement.

 

The major functions of IQAC include:

  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality education
  • Encouraging faculty to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
  • Arrangement for feedback responses from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality related institutional processes
  • Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education
  • Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes such as TLP, research etc.
  • Documentation of the various programmes/activities of the College
  • Preparation of Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per the format prescribed by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the college for coordinating quality-related activities, including initiation and suggestion of good practices.

  • Organization and hosting of the zonal round of ‘Avishkar’- inter-university research convention.
  • Various syllabus revision workshops with the BOS, University of Mumbai.

 

2016 - 17

  8. Interactive counselling session for parents have been conducted by Ms.Rachana Avatramani (Couselor)

  11. Conducted idea mela.
  12. Structured course along with project work has been introduced in Entrepreneurship Development Cell. Certificates given in collaboration with AIFMB to successful students.

 

          Workshops/seminars/conferences:

  • Chinese studies outreach program (National Level)
  • A session on ‘Preparing effective power point presentation’ was conducted for all teaching staff members on 9th April 2017
  • Conducted a Workshop on Data analytics using tableau
  • Department of Psychology organized workshop titled ‘My Life- My Way’ on 5th & 6th May 2017

 

2017 -18

  1. Conduction of Parent Teacher Meeting by each mentor teacher
  2. Book review and assignment to each student by mentor teacher
  3. Mentor File system continued with record of activities & student achievements.
  4. Practice of Teacher’s academic diary in Google sheet from the beginning of the year and was asked to be shared in each term for review.
  5. Review & suggestions to select committees in the beginning of the year itself.
  6. Review and suggestions on Department activities via planning boards
  7. API UGC 4th amendment guideline session for teachers.
  8. All faculty were informed and shared UGC approved journals list in their respective subjects.
  9. Flip model was used by many teachers and the same has been reviewed by IQAC
  10. Workshop on ‘Basic online transactions’ under PTA was conducted by IQAC.
  11. Conduction of aptitude test & HR training sessions via Placement & training cell.
  12. Parents feedback forms have also been taken.

  • National level Workshop on ‘’Conducting & crafting high quality Research” with IIMA.
