About Department

The department of Commerce was established in 1995. The department offers a B.COM programme at undergraduate level .The department engages in research and innovative pedagogy, making best use of information technology by adopting experiential learning methods.

The department also provides students with the experience of internships and educational excursions for a more immersive learning experience.The staff works towards the development and effective communication of ideas, as learning takes place. The department is adept at the various courses offered and in creating a wide platform of exposure to learning.

The department lays the foundation for students to work collaboratively and productively in groups. After completing a Bachelor’s programme in Commerce, the students will be able to develop ‘Critical Thinking’ with an ability to develop new ideas in the evaluation of business and other related areas.

The department not only enables students to recognize and understand the commercial value of education but also the moral responsibility of all individuals collectively in the society.

Syllabus

The B. COM programme at under graduation offers various courses creating a wide platform of exposure to learning and seeking gainful employment opportunities. This programme lays the foundation for students to Work collaboratively and productively in groups, develop and effectively communicate ideas and implement strategies. The programme provides for the development of scientific temper of mind. After completing bachelor programme in Commerce, a student will be able to develop ‘Critical Thinking’ with an ability to evaluate new ideas in the evaluation of business and commerce related areas. The courses offered help students recognize and understand the commercial and moral responsibility of all individuals collectively as institutions, industry and government in the society.

Undergraduates with competency and vocational skills who complete the Bachelor of Commerce program with a specialization in accounting are expected to become well-rounded professionals who are not only academically strong but also have the practical skills, ethics, and adaptability needed to succeed in the rapidly changing accounting and finance industry.
