Amreena Thomas secured 2nd Place while Lulua secured 5th Place in for Inter-zonal Squash Championship, held at D.G. Ruparel College, Matunga organized by University of Mumbai (16-9-23)
Apoorva Patil from SKSCASC has participated in Senior National Judo championship. She secured 3d Place in the Championship with outstanding Judo Skills. The event was organized by The Judo Federation of India at SMS Indoor Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan. (4-10-23)
Snehal Mirgal (SYBA student) from SKSCASC participated in West Zone Athletic Championship. She ran in 4*100 meters Relay Race, 4* 400 meters relay race and 800 Meters Race. Snenal won cold Medal in. in 4*100 meters Relay Race as well as 4°400 meters relay race. She also won Silver medal in 800 meters race. Above are the sports events which the college offers and have students been participating like Table Tennis, Chess, Judo, Weightlifting and Power Lifting, Football, Volleyball, Taekwondo, Cricket, Athletics. The notable performances in these above-mentioned events need a special praise. Continuing our college's rich tradition in bringing in the medals in Taekwondo, Siddhesh Hadawale from Third Year B. Com bagged a silver medal in inter collegiate Taekwondo tournament organised by Mumbai University and won gold in Inter Federation District Championship conducted at Dharavi Sports Complex. In addition, Ms. Apoorva Patil from Second Year B. Com won gold medal in Judo Federation Senior District Championship and also won gold medal in Federation Senior state championship held at Balewadi stadium at Pune. Two students, Ms Vaidehi Vengurlekar from Third Year B.A. (Economics) and Ms. Ruhi More from First Year B.A. were selected for volleyball in the state west zone tournament which was held at Kopargaon and were selected to represent Mumbai University at the All-India University Meet held at KIIT University, Bhubaneshwar, Orissa. Mr. Anuj Shah from Third Year B.A. (Psychology) won a silver medal in the one metre springboard event conducted by the 74th Senior Aquatic Championship held in Bangalore and was selected for Mumbai University in one metre Springfield event for the All-India Aquatic Meet in Orissa.
A vital component of the Somaiya Vidyavihar trust, Somaiya Sports Academy boasts international-standard facilities for sports like cricket, roller skating, basketball, badminton, squash, football, volleyball, and lawn tennis. It also has a fully furnished gym. All of the campus's amenities are available to students, who can also experience coaching in a variety of sports.
Additionally, SSA offers a "pay and play" system that allows sports fans to hire sports facilities and visit to engage in recreational sports.
SSA supports athletic events and invites outside parties to host sporting events on our campus.
The Sports Director at Somaiya Sports Academy serves as the main coordinator for all of the colleges on campus, overseeing and planning college sports events.
