The undergraduate and graduate academic program of Bachelor of Arts in History educates and coaches the history enthusiasts and inquisitive minds for the three years and it is extended across five semesters. A student of BA can choose to do Major with VSC and SEC in History. This specialized and distinct subject of humanities aims to revisit and conceptualize a long timeline of south Asian history beginning from the historicity of the ancient times to the contemporary and postmodern historical episodes and epilogues drawn around the Indian subcontinent.
The global world and the resonating past of the globe are introduced to the students through a course on the glints of global history. The core ethos and imbibing ideas of the course are to keep the evocative past ahead of the times so that it chaperons the young minds to the conversant future. The course teaching is highly customized and designed to be interactive wherein discoursing, debating and discussions are given the utmost priority whilst sincerely browsing the reference and text literature.
Needless to say, the offered course would shape a human with humanus approach of Cicero by emphasizing on oratory skills, historical methodology, empirical research, textual criticism and cross-cultural transoceanic dialogue with the past, present and future.

It also revisits medieval times of the Sultanate and Mughals to comprehend the intense geo-politics of the Indian Subcontinent and gauge shifting political orders.
British empire building and its hegemonic rule during the modern Indian Historical times, offers complexity of colonial rule and distinct Indian responses in the form of resistance, revolts, mass movements and revolutionary reactions.
Contemporary post Independent India takes a ride of democratic nation formation with the elements of socio-economic reforms, failures and successes of the governments schemes and policies, foreign relations, contemporary challenges and responses to globalized world.
