The department of Philosophy encourages students to take philosophy as an academic discipline seriously and to pursue higher studies and research in philosophy.The philosophy department is a dedicated academic unit focused on the study of fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, values, reason, and the nature of reality.
It offers courses and research opportunities in various philosophical fields, aiming to foster critical thinking and intellectual exploration.
Ishwari Talekar from FYBA 2023 has won 1st runner up in Workshop Synopsis, writing and presenting.
Sia Parmar from SYBA 2023-24 presented a research paper in 2023 and won a poster presentation competition in Avishkar, a research competition for students.
Zia Mirza from FYBA 2023-24 participated in "Counsel India".
Anuj Kanojia from SYBA 2022-23 participated in "Counsel India".

Syllabus
The Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy is a two-year course. Philosophy is offered in FYBA,and SYBA. The entire course of two years enables the development of creative thinking skills, the knowledge of morality, skills to articulate opinions and the desire to lead a fulfilling life.
B.A in Philosophy teaches students different ways of perceiving concepts which will also instigate the development of a liberal mindset. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, students realize the importance of the fact that no viewpoint has an ultimate basis and are all subjected to the current socio-political background.
